Improvement:
On June 15, 2004 an improvement was made to Marathon's product line to utilize close-coupled motors. This change reduced the number of moving parts, reduced potential maintenance, and assured alignment between the pump and motor shafts. The major motors that were affected were our 1 1/2hp through 15hp motors. By changing to the close-coupled motors we were able to eliminate the need for the pump-to-motor adapters and hub couplings.
