PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS
Friends and Industry Associates,
At Marathon, “Listening Today, Implementing Tomorrow” means innovation never stops. Customers provide valuable information about the equipment needs of the industry and we listen. The time frame from concept to design to manufacturing to delivery is the shortest in the industry. With our efficient R&D process, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, “Listening Today, Implementing Tomorrow” isn’t a concept — it’s a reality.
At the recent Waste Expo and ISRI shows we introduced several new products and product enhancements including our Ultra™ Self-Contained Compactor with Universal Power Pack, the Qwik Clean® Door, the V-6030HD Vertical Baler and the Raz-R™ Mobile Shear. In support of the annual EIA Educational Foundation auction, Marathon donated an RJ-250SC Ultra™ and V6030HD. ISRI attendees who visited the NEXGEN® booth were treated to an in-person introduction to our show-stopping Raz-R Mobile Shear.
I invite you to send us questions, comments or stories that we can include in upcoming e-newsletters and share with others within the waste-handling, scrap-processing and recycling communities.
Best Regards,

Gordon C. Shaw, President

#1 Solution:
My compactor isn’t working….
Step 1: Check your Disconnect.
What is the Disconnect? The Disconnect
is the electrical panel box located on the
outside of store/bldg. near the compactor.
Switch the ON/OFF lever 3 times.
Step 2: Trip your fuse.
Locate fuse box inside store and trip the
compactor’s fuse switch 3 times.
(Models manufactured before 1998,
attempt to compact after the first 2 steps.)
Step 3: Reset your compactor.
On compactors manufactured after 1998,
a black RESET button is located near
the compactor power unit in the door of
the electrical control panel. Press the
button 3 times (waiting a few seconds
between each press.)
Step 4: Compact!
If machine continues not to work,
repeat step 3 or call a Marathon service
technician at (800) 633-8974.
Note: If your compactor’s power source is fine, but a
jammed ram has you in a bind, follow Step 3.

NOTES FROM NEXGEN
Minimum Maintanence for
Maximum Performance
On all Galaxy 2R and TIEger Auto-tie balers, the power pack needs to be cleaned WEEKLY. Using compressed air, blow all loose particles and debris off of the reservoir and all components. Also, the power pack should be wiped down with a clean rag and cleaning solvent or degreaser to remove any build up. Doing so will prohibit any ingression of contaminants into the tank or hydraulic components.
