Ted Levine Drum Co. Gets Big Squeeze!

So. El Monte, California - With over 100 years of industry experience, the Levine family knows drums inside and out. They know how to recondition them, sell them, and transport them. And now, thanks to NEXGEN®, they know how to crush and bale them too.

The company recently purchased an Atlas® ET Baler to generate additional revenue from used steel and plastic drums, as well as intermediate bulk containers (IBC) that don't qualify for reconditioning.

So far the application has resulted in greater bale densities than expected. With the Atlas ET able to produce over 235,000 lbs. of force, capacities have exceeded 80 steel drums per 48" x 60" x 30" bale and over 60 plastic drums in the same bale size. The drums range from 16 gallons up to 85 gallons in size. Prior to purchasing the baler, the company spent a lot more time and money handling and transporting bulky uncrushed drums.

"This baler is one of the best investments we have ever made. The payback period will be fairly short and I am one step ahead of my competition," said Ozzie Levine, son of founder Ted Levine.  Click here to read more on the capabilities of the Atlas ET baler.
