Foodservice Company Gets Super-Sized Savings with GreenBuilt!
Sumner, Ill. - It's tough in today's economy to still make a buck while leveraging more savings for your customers. However, Veolia Environmental Services (Veolia) is doing just that. Recently the company replaced 8-yard and 4-yard containers at Wabash FoodService in Vincennes, Ind., with a solar-powered GreenBuilt RJ-250SC compactor/container.
This transition will result in a reduction of more than 300 hauls per year, equating to considerable savings on waste removal costs. "Previously, we picked up containers at Wabash 6 times per week and now we're anticipating 11 hauls per year," said Benson Davenport, Area Sales Manager for Veolia ES Solid Waste, Midwest LLC. "In fact, the first pick-up was 6 weeks after the install - better than projected. The solar-powered unit has suprisingly given just as many tons per haul as the ten horsepower units we have purchased in the past."
Wabash FoodService is a 59 year old family-owned and operated foodservice and convenience store distributorship and is the first in Vincennes to utilize the industry's only commercial-grade solar-powered compactor. Veolia purchased the compactor through Link Environmental, a Marathon dealer, which has recommended the GreenBuilt line to companies looking for more environmentally-friendly waste removal options. "GreenBuilt products provide options like solar-power and biodegradable oil that appeal to today's marketplace," said Donny Link, Sales Manager for Link Environmental. "We are pleased to be able to offer it to our customers."
