D.C. Department of Health Solves Area Rat Problems with Untouchable VIPs!

Not long ago, Gerard Brown was on a mission when he saw his first RAMJET Untouchable VIP tucked away in an alley in the D.C. area. It was love at first sight. As the Program Manager for the Rodent and Vector Control Division of the D.C. Department of Health, Gerard needed a solution that would help to establish a comprehensive, sustainable and responsive rodent control and animal disease prevention program for the district. Every day, Gerard and his team visit local businesses to check for open or overflowing containers, issuing citations up to $500 to those who aren’t compliant with local ordinances. In turn, as a viable solution, Gerard advocates using the Marathon RAMJET Untouchable VIP for its compact size, clean look, odor reduction, and ability to replace up to six two-yard containers, which take up valuable space and attract rodents and other pests. Working with the RAMJET Regional Sales Manager, Bob Quinn, and the local Marathon distributor, Big Stuff, Inc., Gerard and his team have been responsible for the placement of a dozen Untouchable VIPs in the area, with orders growing each month. Focusing effort on assisting local merchants, they have introduced a bill to the City Council which will allow businesses to deduct 50% of the cost of the compactor as a tax credit. When the bill passes, the Untouchable VIP will be featured on the D.C. DOH’s website as a suggested solution. Click here to read more about the Untouchable VIP!
